Mileage accrual

As long as you are an Air China "Phoenix Miles" member, you can accrue miles when flying on any Star Alliance member flight as long as the fare is eligible for mileage accrual. Additionally, you are able to redeem miles for travel with any of the Star Alliance member carriers. This offers our frequent flyer members the ability to book multicarrier, multi-segment award travel on a single ticket, therefore offering more options and greater flexibility. Once you have achieved the required level of mileage, you would be qualified for Star Alliance Gold status, which means that you can enjoy unique recognition and rewards across all member airlines.

Through Check-in

Passengers that are traveling on Star Alliance flights for their whole itinerary can check-in themselves and their baggage for all flights at once. This offers the customer the ability to make easier connections.

Flight information

Access to real-time flight information is provided by the individual carriers' in-house reservation system. This system allows the member carriers staff in reservation call centers, airports, and ticket offices, real-time information about Star Alliance member carrier flights as well. This offers customers the benefit of an improved transfer to their destinations and an easier travel experience.

Harmonized Baggage Policies and Procedures

There are minimum policy standards for checked and carry-on baggage applied by all carriers. If baggage becomes lost when passengers fly with Air China or any other Star Alliance member airline, the baggage tracing system can quickly locate the baggage and return it safely.

Irregular Operations Handling

When an Air China or other Star Alliance member flight is delayed, cancelled or re-routed, special guidelines and procedures have been created for rebooking and notification to the passengers and relevant Star Alliance member carriers.

Premium Customer Services
